Congratulations to our client, Toyota & Lexus Fleet on winning the Green Fleet Manufacturer of the Year 2016.
The announcement was made at the recent Fleet News Awards held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. It’s the second time the marque has won the title in this competitive category, with judges applauding the Toyota Mirai, the world’s first dedicated, hydrogen, mass-produced fuel cell vehicle in particular.
Neil Broad, General Manager for Toyota & Lexus Fleet was delighted with the win: “It’s wonderful to be recognised for our ongoing initiative, investment and innovation in sustainable automotive technology. Our longterm goal is zero harmful vehicle emissions and with the launch of the Mirai, we are pioneering the technology to achieve this. Fuel cell is a step change in automotive technology and just as we have led the way and commercialised hybrid, we plan to do the same with hydrogen.”
The judges reflected this pedigree commenting: “Toyota (Lexus) constantly develops ways to reduce its impact on the environment, with a holistic approach that encompasses manufacturing, use of materials, recycling and a driver intelligence programme.”
In addition to the Green Award, Toyota & Lexus Fleet took home the runner-up prize for Best Small Car with the Toyota Yaris.
